THRO Clear out Three (3) Impounded Stone Culverts and Immediately Related Drain

Background

The National Park Service (NPS), Midwest Region, NEKOTA Major Acquisition Buying Office, is issuing a Request for Quotes (RFQ) to solicit services for the clearing of three impounded stone culverts located within Theodore Roosevelt National Park. The goal of this contract is to ensure proper drainage and maintenance of historic structures while minimizing damage to the masonry. Work Details: The contractor will be responsible for mobilizing labor resources, supplies, and equipment to three culverts. Tasks include: - Hand clearing, mechanical excavation, and hydro-vac excavation of impounded historic stone culvert ducts; - Creating access approaches to culvert inverts upstream and downstream; - Hauling and depositing soils and sediments to the park storage yard; - Performing grade adjustment and contour work for approximately 75 linear feet upstream and downstream of each location; - Slope grading to contour for drainage; - Managing small tree and shrub stumps as needed; - Installing straw waddles to prevent sediment infiltration; - Cleaning and flushing ductwork; - Providing photo-documentation before, during, and after work; - Demobilizing from the project site.
