Background

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Regional Office in Cleveland, OH is seeking to contract reader services to support a Veterans Service Representative (VSR) with a visual impairment. This initiative aims to ensure equal opportunity for all employees and enhance the VA's ability to assist veterans in obtaining benefits. The contract is set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses.

Work Details

The contractor will provide remote reader services, estimated at up to 30 hours per week, coordinated with the VSR with at least 7-14 business days advance notice. The contractor must supply one individual or an alternate to perform reader duties, which include: - Reading electronic and hard copy documents orally (e.g., PDF documents, handwritten documents, medical records), ensuring all required fields are read including blank fields; - Reading outgoing communications for grammatical accuracy and completeness; - Reading information on computer monitors when accessibility issues arise; - Maintaining a Service Hour Log for tracking hours worked. The contractor must also ensure that personnel are qualified and experienced, fluent in English, and possess strong communication skills.

Period of Performance

Base period from September 19, 2025, to September 18, 2026, with options extending through September 18, 2030.
