Background

The City of Vancouver is seeking highly qualified Pest and Vermin Control firms or individuals to perform pest control services at various locations within the city. This initiative is part of the city's ongoing commitment to maintaining municipal infrastructure and urban services, which includes pest management as a vital component of public health and safety. The city has utilized pest control services for over a decade, and the scope of this contract has expanded as new facilities have been added.

Work Details

The contractor will provide Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices for monthly and as-needed pest/vermin control services. Specific tasks include: 1. **Monthly Maintenance**: Interior/exterior spraying for insects (e.g., ants, spiders), setting up bait stations for rodents, and emergency response service calls. 2. **Extra Services**: Additional perimeter sprays for insects/spiders as needed, removal of wasp/hornet nests, and after-hour emergency service calls. 3. **Initial Setup Fee**: Fees for setting up accounts at each location. 4. **Hourly Rate**: For other pest control services not listed in the schedules. Monthly reports detailing service dates, times, work performed, and any facility concerns must be submitted to the Facilities Contract Supervisor.

Period of Performance

The contract is intended to last for a maximum term of five (5) years from the date of award.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed at various locations throughout the City of Vancouver.

Bidder Requirements

Contractors must be licensed by the State of Washington as a Pest Control Company and provide copies of required licenses or certifications post-award. All personnel must pass a Vancouver Police Background/Fingerprint Check and complete FBI – Homeland Security CJIS Awareness Training every two years. Contractors are also required to provide after-hours response service seven days a week.
