Curb Ramp ADA Improvements Program FY 2026

Background

The City of Pasadena Public Works Department is initiating the Curb Ramp ADA Improvements Project for Fiscal Year 2026. This project aims to enhance accessibility by installing approximately 25 new curb ramps at priority locations along arterial, residential, and collector streets where ramps are currently missing. The project aligns with the City’s commitment to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and improve public infrastructure.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for installing around 25 new curb ramps in compliance with Pasadena City Standard S-414 and the 2024 edition of the Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction (SSPWC or 'GREENBOOK'). The installation locations are specified in an attached list and map. All work must adhere to local regulations and standards.

Period of Performance

The project is scheduled to commence following the bid award and is expected to be completed within a timeframe defined by the contract terms, typically spanning several months post-award.

The work will be performed in various locations throughout the City of Pasadena, California, specifically on arterial, residential, and collector streets as indicated in the project documentation.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must hold an active Class A General Engineering Contractor's License or Class C-8 Concrete Contractor's License at the time of bid submission. Additionally, bidders must comply with California Labor Code provisions regarding prevailing wages, provide electronic certified payroll records, and adhere to local contracting policies including Equal Employment Opportunity regulations. Bidders are also required to submit a Declaration of Noncollusion and forms AA-1 and AA-2 prior to contract award.
