Carpet Cleaning Services for Charleston County Facilities

Background

The County of Charleston is seeking bids for carpet cleaning services for various county facilities. The goal of this contract is to ensure that the carpets in these facilities are maintained in a clean and presentable condition, adhering to the manufacturer's recommended care instructions. The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary labor, materials, equipment, and management required to perform these services.

Work Details

The contractor will provide carpet cleaning services including: 1. Furnishing all labor, uniforms, badges, materials, equipment, transportation, supervision, and management. 2. Performing carpet cleaning after standard business hours unless otherwise noted. 3. Following a monthly schedule of services that must be provided to the County in advance. 4. Moving chairs and other portable items necessary for cleaning and returning them to their original positions afterward. 5. Cleaning area rugs in public sitting areas unless specified otherwise. 6. Ensuring carpets are free of spots, stains, gum, dirt, and debris without causing damage. 7. Providing spot cleaning during regular visits and addressing any areas that cannot be cleaned during a normal visit at the next scheduled visit. 8. Using cleaning methods approved by the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) and National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA).

Period of Performance

The contract term shall be for one year with an option to extend on an annual basis for four additional one-year periods.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed at various Charleston County facilities as specified in the bid documents.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must be established in the business of providing carpet cleaning services and must submit proof of membership with the IICRC and Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI). Additionally, all employees must undergo SLED background checks prior to accessing County facilities.
