Background The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) is procuring Grounds Maintenance/Landscaping Services for USCG Sector Humboldt Bay, CA. This contract aims to ensure a safe, clean, and healthy environment for all residents, military and civilian, as well as the general public. The services are in compliance with USCG's direction for consistent performance and results-oriented contracts. Work Details The contractor will provide personnel, management, supervision, materials, supplies, equipment, tools, transportation, and other necessary items or services to perform grounds maintenance services. The scope includes maintaining approximately 8 acres of lawns and grounds within the USCG Sector Humboldt Bay complex. Specific tasks include: - Grass cutting/mowing: Mow grass areas to promote health and neat appearance; keep lawn free of dead vegetation; remove debris before mowing; maintain grass height between 1.5 to 4 inches; remove clippings immediately after mowing. - Edging: Perform edging along sidewalks, driveways, and other paved surfaces; ensure no vegetation is closer than 1/2 inch from pavement. - Trimming: Trim around trees and shrubs to match surrounding vegetation; remove all cuttings and debris after trimming. - Plant and Shrub Pruning: Prune shrubs and bushes for health and appearance while preventing obstruction of views or pathways. - Surface Drainage: Remove obstructions in drainage areas as needed. - Leaf Removal: Collect fallen leaves to maintain appearance. - Sweeping: Sweep paved areas to remove grass clippings on the same day as mowing. - Clean-Up: Remove all debris from the site after each service. - Weed Control: Control weeds in landscaped areas using approved methods. The contractor must also hold required licenses including Landscaping (C-27) and Tree Service (C-61/D-49) California State Contractor License. Period of Performance The contract has an initial 6-month Base Period of Performance from October 1, 2026 through March 31, 2027, with four option periods of twelve months each.
