Summary (Newest Update)

Background NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) has a requirement for a Cryogen-free Dilution Refrigerator Test for the characterization of superconducting detectors and devices. This project supports NASA's mission to develop low noise cryogenic detectors and detector system components, which are essential for performance characterization and calibration in science missions, particularly for quantum sensing applications. Work Details The contractor shall provide a Cryogen-free Dilution Refrigerator Testbed capable of achieving ultralow temperatures with high cooling power. Key specifications include: - Achieve base temperature < 10 milliKelvin (mK) with no heat load. - Maintain continuous temperatures < 100 mK with a 250 microwatt (uW) heat load. - Rapid duty cycle allowing cooldown and warmup within one calendar week. - Operate without liquid cryogens for cooling or precooling. - Designed for robustness with limited maintenance requirements. - System must demonstrate sufficient cooling power and provide a leak-tight environment against electromagnetic and radiation interference. Place of Performance The services will be performed at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and the contractor's facilities.
