Work will be performed in Mississippi River and Southwest Pass and possibly in other areas inside and outside of the New Orleans District. The magnitude of construction range for this Dredge project is between $10,000,000.00 and $25,000,000.00. A bid opening date will be established in a future amendment. Background The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is issuing this contract for the Mississippi River, Baton Rouge to Gulf, Southwest Pass Hopper Dredge Contract No. 6-2026 (OM26006). The mission of the Corps is to maintain navigable waterways and ensure safe passage for commercial and recreational vessels. The goal of this contract is to provide dredging services to maintain the navigability of the Mississippi River and Southwest Pass. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for furnishing one fully crewed and equipped self-propelled trailing suction type hopper dredge. The work will primarily take place in the Mississippi River and Southwest Pass, with potential operations in other areas within and outside of the New Orleans District. The contractor must adhere to safety regulations, including submitting an Accident Prevention Plan, conducting daily inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols during dredging operations. Specific tasks include: - Submission of a Dive Plan as part of the Accident Prevention Plan. - Erection and maintenance of safety signs at designated sites. - Provision of two means of escape for personnel on floating plants. - Installation and maintenance of emergency alarms on all floating plants.
