The City of Tampa operates a diverse fleet of Light, Medium, and Heavy Trucks, Construction Equipment, and Industrial Equipment to support essential municipal services, including public safety, emergency response, and daily City operations. The Fleet Maintenance Division (FMD) is responsible for routine maintenance and repair; however, during periods of increased workload or emergencies, supplemental repair services are required. The City seeks qualified Proposers to provide reliable and cost-effective repair and maintenance services for diesel vehicles and equipment.
The contract includes comprehensive repair and maintenance services for diesel vehicles and equipment within the City’s fleet. Services required include diagnostics, preventive maintenance, repairs, parts replacement, and inspections performed in accordance with manufacturer and industry standards. Proposers must ensure fleet readiness by minimizing vehicle downtime and providing labor, parts, and associated shop supplies. All repairs must utilize Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) components or approved equivalents. Emergency repair services outside normal business hours are also part of this contract.
The contract will commence upon award with a timeline for repairs to be acknowledged within 24 hours of request and completed within ten working days unless otherwise approved by the FMD.
Services will be performed at the Successful Proposer's facility located within Hillsborough County or onsite at City of Tampa properties as specified by the FMD.
Proposers must demonstrate compliance with minimum shop requirements including secured lots, service bays for large vehicles, technicians with current ASE or manufacturer certifications for Class 2-8 vehicles preferred, a minimum 365-day labor warranty, active Florida CDL for personnel responsible for vehicle transport, and insurance in accordance with City requirements. Proposers must also provide documentation showing at least two years of similar service experience within Hillsborough County.
