Background

The City of Pasadena Department of Public Works, Building Systems and Fleet Management Division (BSFMD) is seeking a qualified vendor to provide authorized Caterpillar equipment service, repair, maintenance, and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts on an as-needed basis. This initiative supports the City's fleet of heavy-duty equipment utilizing Caterpillar components, including skid steer loaders, forklifts, wheel loaders, and loader backhoes. The goal is to minimize vehicle downtime and maintain operational readiness throughout Fiscal Year 2027.

Work Details

The contractor will provide the following services: - Advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting - Mechanical, hydraulic, and engine repairs - Removal and installation of major components - Software-based diagnostics, calibration, and system updates. All services must be performed using manufacturer-approved tools and procedures. The contractor must supply genuine Caterpillar OEM parts that are new and unused. Services may be conducted at either the City's facility or the contractor's facility as appropriate.

Period of Performance

The contract is scheduled to start on July 1, 2026, and end on June 30, 2027.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed primarily at the City of Pasadena – City Yards located at 323 W. Mountain Street, Pasadena, CA 91103.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must be authorized service providers for Caterpillar products with a minimum of three years' experience in providing parts and repair services for Caterpillar equipment. They must demonstrate access to necessary tools and trained personnel. Additionally, bidders are required to comply with the City’s Equal Employment Opportunity practices.
