Evaluation of Massachusetts Local Wellness Policies

Background

The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) Office for Food and Nutrition Programs (FNP) is seeking a vendor to evaluate Massachusetts Local Wellness Policies. The goal of this contract is to conduct a thorough evaluation and create a comprehensive report that assesses the strength and comprehensiveness of these policies. These policies are essential for promoting student health and wellness in public schools.

Work Details

The vendor will be responsible for conducting an evaluation of the Local Wellness Policies across Massachusetts public schools. This includes analyzing existing policies, assessing their effectiveness, and compiling findings into a detailed report. The evaluation should focus on the strengths and weaknesses of the policies, providing actionable recommendations for improvement. The vendor must have experience in evaluating local wellness policies and developing related resources.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon approval and will run until June 30, 2027. There is an option for renewal for up to 12 months based on performance and funding availability.

Place of Performance

The work will primarily be conducted in Massachusetts, focusing on public school districts throughout the state.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must demonstrate a minimum of three years’ experience in evaluating local wellness policies, as well as three years’ experience in developing related resources. Additionally, bidders should have at least one year of experience using the WellSAT tool for policy assessment.
