Background

The Sanibel/Punta Rassa Articulated Block Mat Install project is funded in part by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through the Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) Program. The Lee County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified contractors to undertake this project, which aims to stabilize the shoreline at the Punta Rassa/Sanibel boat ramp area.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for installing articulated concrete block mats (ABM) for shoreline stabilization. The scope of work includes: 1. Site preparation, including clearing and grubbing. 2. Placement of geotextile fabric and aggregate base. 3. Installation and anchoring of open-cell articulated block mats. 4. Construction of associated concrete elements such as ribbon curb and cutoff walls. 5. Restoration of disturbed areas. 6. Implementation of erosion and sediment control measures.
