Background
The City of Danville, Virginia is soliciting sealed proposals from qualified firms to provide on-call Bridge and Roadway Structure Professional Services on an as-needed, task-order basis. The goal of this contract is to support the City's infrastructure maintenance, inspection, and capital improvement programs. The City owns and maintains a network of bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and other roadway structures, requiring specialized professional engineering services to supplement in-house capabilities.
Work Details
The Consultant(s) shall provide professional engineering study, design, and inspection services on an as-needed basis. Services include: 1. Bridge Inspection Services: Routine inspections per NBIS standards, underwater inspections, special inspections, load rating analysis, and reporting. 2. Maintenance and Repair Document Preparation: Development of maintenance plans, repair designs, feasibility studies for rehabilitation or replacement. 3. Inspection of Other Roadway Structures: Assessments of culverts, retaining walls, sign structures, pedestrian bridges. 4. Capital Project Engineering Support: Preliminary studies and final design services including environmental documents. 5. Construction Phase Engineering Support: Responses to RFIs, submittal reviews, field inspections. 6. Programmatic and Advisory Services: Development of management programs for bridge assets. 7. Other Services: Field data collection, coordination with utility owners, preparation of traffic control plans.
Period of Performance
The initial contract term is two years from the date of execution with an option to renew for up to three additional one-year periods.
Place of Performance
Services will be performed within the corporate limits of the City of Danville, Virginia.
Bidder Requirements
Offerors must be authorized to transact business in Virginia as required by the State Corporation Commission. They must also provide a drug-free workplace certification and a non-collusion affidavit as part of their proposal.
