Background The Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) is issuing this solicitation for the repair and renovation of Building 33 at the Choctaw Agency, located in Philadelphia, MS. The goal of this contract is to waterproof and improve the drainage system along the exterior eastside wall of the building to prevent water intrusion and damage. This project falls under the Buy Indian Act, which solicits offers only from Indian Economic Enterprises that are also small business concerns. Work Details The contractor will perform a comprehensive assessment of the site, including soil composition, drainage patterns, water table levels, and local climate conditions. The scope of work includes: 1) Temporarily disconnecting and moving HVAC units; 2) Temporarily relocating a fence on the east side of the building; 3) Excavating along the exterior eastside wall to expose it for waterproofing and drainage installation; 4) Removing deteriorated concrete troughs; 5) Rerouting electrical gate conduits; 6) Digging a trench for a French Drain alongside the oldest part of the building; 7) Installing waterproofing sealant and drainage materials including perforated sock pipe in gravel; 8) Backfilling trenches to ensure positive drainage towards Evergreen Street and Powell Street. The estimated cost for this project ranges from $65,000 to $75,000. Period of Performance The contract period will be from May 25, 2026, to May 24, 2027.
