Background The contract is issued by the United States Air Force for the Command Post facility at Shaw Air Force Base. The mission of the agency is to maintain operational readiness and support ongoing mission activities. The goal of this contract is to replace the flooring in the Command Post facility (Building 1122, Basement) with high-quality and durable materials while ensuring minimal disruption to operations. Work Details The contractor shall perform all tasks necessary to complete the carpet and flooring installation project as outlined in the Statement of Work (SOW). The work includes: 1. Prerequisite Surface Preparation: - Moving furniture as required to access work areas. - Removing all existing carpet from designated areas. - Preparing subfloors to ensure they are smooth and clean, including applying a feather-finish compound for leveling. 2. Flooring and Material Installation: - Installing new Shaw Carpet Tile as specified. - Installing new Tarkett Vinyl Composition Tile (VCT) in designated areas. - Installing Johnsonite 6" cove base and rubber stairnosing as required. 3. Site Protection and Cleanup: Ensuring that all work areas are protected during installation and cleaned up afterward. Place of Performance The construction projects will be performed at Shaw Air Force Base, specifically within the Command Post facility located in Building 1122.
