Background The contract is being issued by the Naval Sea Systems Command, specifically the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane). The purpose of this contract is to procure supplies and services in support of U.S. Navy new ship construction, ship sustainment, and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customers. The contract will be awarded to Communications and Power Industries (CPI), which is the only known source capable of fulfilling these requirements. Work Details The contract will enable the procurement of new, repaired, and rebuilt Continuous Wave Illuminator Traveling Wave Tubes (CWI TWTs). These microwave tubes are critical components installed in the MK-99 Fire Control System (FCS) on board CG-47 Class AEGIS Cruisers, DDG-51 Class AEGIS Destroyers, and foreign military ships.
