Background The 20th Contracting Squadron at Shaw Air Force Base (AFB) is seeking to procure Packing and Crating Services to support the mission of the 20th Logistics Readiness Squadron. The goal of this contract is to facilitate the preparation, shipment, and storage of personal property for Department of Defense (DoD) personnel through the Direct Procurement Method (DPM). This service is essential for ensuring that personal property is handled efficiently and in compliance with military standards. Work Details The contractor will provide all personnel, equipment, facilities, supplies, services, and materials necessary for the packing, containerization, and local drayage of personal property shipments. Key tasks include: 1. Conducting a premove survey to assess the nature of personal property for shipment. 2. Weighing shipments using certified scales and submitting weight tickets as required. 3. Performing containerization for both domestic and overseas movement or storage, including stenciling and cooperage. 4. Handling inbound shipments and decontainerization at the contractor's facility. 5. Ensuring all packing materials are new or in sound condition and free from harmful substances. 6. Maintaining accurate documentation for all services performed, including invoices that reflect a detailed account of work completed. 7. Establishing a quality control program to ensure compliance with contract specifications. Place of Performance Services will be performed at Shaw AFB in South Carolina, covering specific counties within Zones 38 and 39.
