Roof - replacement and installation

Background

The County Council of Dorchester County is seeking qualified and experienced roofing contractors for the complete replacement of the roof located at 6275 Lords Crossing Road, Hurlock, Maryland 21643. The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to obtain competitive proposals from licensed roofing contractors capable of providing all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, permits, and services necessary to complete the project as outlined in this document.

Work Details

The selected contractor will be responsible for the removal and replacement of the existing roofing system, including all associated components required for a complete and functional installation. The scope of work includes:

1) Existing Roof Removal

Remove existing roofing materials down to the roof deck; dispose of all debris per local regulations; provide and maintain a dumpster container on-site for debris removal; protect surrounding property during demolition.

2) Roof Deck Inspection and Repairs

Inspect roof decking for damage; identify and document repairs; replace damaged decking as needed.

3) Installation of New Roofing System

Install Tribute synthetic roofing underlayment, storm and ice shield, aluminum step-flashing, wall flashing, chimney flashing, counter flashing, soil stack boot, GAF Cobra Ridge Vent, drip edge, ridge cap, and roofing material (GAF Timberline HDZ Architectural Asphalt Shingles preferred).

4) Cleanup and Site Protection

Maintain a clean jobsite; perform daily debris removal; conduct magnetic nail sweeps; protect occupants and adjacent property.

5) Final Inspection

Conduct final walkthrough with owner representative; provide documentation of completed work; submit warranty information.

Period of Performance

The contract will be performed starting from the date of award until project completion as determined by the County Council.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at 6275 Lords Crossing Road, Hurlock, Maryland 21643.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must possess valid state and local contractor licenses with a minimum of 10 years of roofing experience. Proof of general liability insurance and workers’ compensation insurance is required. Bidders must also provide references from similar projects and maintain an OSHA-compliant safety program.
