Background

The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) is seeking proposals for the Washington Co. Expressways (I-5/OR217/OR10) ADA Ramps project as part of a settlement agreement aimed at improving accessibility for individuals with disabilities. This project is part of a broader initiative to remediate non-compliant curb ramps identified in ODOT's curb ramp inventory, which is mandated by a 15-year settlement agreement with the Association of Oregon Centers for Independent Living. The goal is to ensure compliance with ADA standards and improve accessibility across state highways.

Work Details

The consultant will provide comprehensive design services for Project Curb Ramps at both signalized and non-signalized intersections, as well as mid-block crossings along and adjacent to Agency Right of Way (ROW). The services include: 1. Conceptual Design through Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E). 2. Construction engineering support. 3. Compliance with applicable standards including ADA regulations, PROWAG guidelines, and other relevant traffic control device standards. 4. Reporting requirements as specified in the Final Settlement Agreement. 5. The project involves designing 56 curb ramps distributed across various segments within Washington County, with specific attention to high-priority areas identified by safety ratings.

Period of Performance

The work is expected to commence on November 23, 2026, with design completion anticipated by March 2, 2028.

Place of Performance

Washington County, Oregon, specifically along the expressways I-5, OR217, and OR10.
