Background

The California Department of Veterans Affairs (CalVet) is seeking qualified vendors to provide Skilled Nursing Facility Painting Services under Solicitation Number 25CS0064. The goal of this contract is to ensure that the painting services meet the needs of the Veterans Home located at 700 East Naples Court, Chula Vista, CA 91911. The contractor must comply with all applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and CalVet policies.

Work Details

The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, staff, transportation, licenses, permits, and other necessary items to perform SNF Painting Services. Specific responsibilities include: - Painting areas 300, 700 & 1100 including associated pods, bathrooms, common areas, and nursing areas. - Using Dunn-Edwards products or approved equivalents. - Applying Sparta wall Eggshell finish for resident rooms and Semi-Gloss finish for bathrooms. - Painting all interior drywall walls and ceilings. - Painting exposed MEP components. - Surface preparation including drywall work and minor patching. - Caulking joints. - Standard paint application with two primer coats and two finish coats. - Providing necessary equipment like scaffolding or lifts. - Protecting adjacent surfaces during operations. - Daily cleanup of work areas. - Providing a one-year workmanship warranty covering defects in paint applications. - Replacing any damage caused during the project duration.

Period of Performance

The contract term starts on May 1, 2026 or upon approval and ends on June 30, 2027.

All services will be performed at the Veterans Home located at 700 East Naples Court, Chula Vista, CA 91911.

Bidder Requirements

Contractors must hold either a General B or C-33 license issued by the State of California. There is no Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) subcontracting goal for this solicitation but participation is encouraged. Contractors must comply with prevailing wage laws as determined by the Department of Industrial Relations.
