Background

The Cleveland-Cuyahoga County Port Authority is implementing a multi-phase port electrification program supported by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) Clean Ports program. This initiative aims to deploy zero-emission (ZE) equipment and renewable energy to improve air quality for Cleveland communities and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. It also seeks to establish a foundation for rapid decarbonization in the coming years.

Work Details

The Port seeks an experienced solar plus storage integrator ('Integrator') to deliver an approximately 2.15 MW-dc solar photovoltaic (PV) system combined with a 2 MW / 8 MWh DC-coupled battery energy storage system (BESS). The main objectives of this contract include: (1) Supporting Jacobs in completing the 100% design package. (2) Furnishing the BESS equipment and related equipment (excluding solar equipment, which has already been purchased by the Port), with specifications provided in Attachment A. (3) Integrating the DC coupled solar PV plus BESS architecture into a unified system. (4) Executing all tasks necessary to pursue utility interconnection with Cleveland Public Power (CPP). (5) Performing all tasks related to the operation and maintenance (O&M) of the provided BESS system. The Integrator will be involved during the design phase to ensure alignment between equipment specifications, constructability considerations, and system performance requirements.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon selection of the Integrator and will continue through the completion of the design package and installation of the systems as specified.

Place of Performance

Cleveland, Ohio at the Cleveland-Cuyahoga County Port Authority facilities.
