Background

The Recreation and Parks Commission for the Parish of East Baton Rouge (BREC) operates and manages 186 parks, including the Independence Park Theatre (IPT). IPT's mission is to provide professional theater services and programs to the Baton Rouge community while facilitating arts education. The theatre hosts various events such as film premieres, corporate meetings, seminars, and theatrical productions. It has a capacity of 780 seats and is equipped with advanced lighting and sound systems. The theatre's peak season is during Spring due to numerous dance competitions and graduations.

Work Details

The contract requires the provision of skilled/certified labor for technical positions necessary for show/stage productions at IPT. This includes house management, electrical management, audio management, and stage management. The contractor must provide an itemized invoice after each production based on an agreed rate sheet. The scope of work will be assessed after each production to determine the required labor positions.

Period of Performance

The initial contract term will be from June 1, 2026, through December 31, 2027, with options for two additional twelve-month renewals if mutually agreed upon by both parties.

Place of Performance

The services will be performed at Independence Park Theatre located at 6201 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must comply with insurance requirements including: - Workers Compensation insurance with a minimum limit of $500,000 per accident; - Commercial General Liability insurance with a minimum limit of $1,000,000 per occurrence; - Automobile Liability insurance with a minimum limit of $1,000,000. BREC must be named as an additional insured on these policies. Contractors must also maintain necessary licenses and permits as required by Louisiana law.
