Deceased Animal Collection Services

Background

The City of Oakland's Animal Services is seeking to contract for the pickup and disposal of deceased household pets and wildlife animal carcasses, as well as hazardous waste carcasses and associated medical/biohazardous waste collection. Oakland Animal Services operates as an open admissions shelter, accepting all animals regardless of their condition. The goal of this contract is to ensure safe and efficient disposal services for deceased animals in the city.

Work Details

The awarded contractor will provide the following services: 1. Pickup of deceased household pets and wildlife animal carcasses. 2. Disposal services for hazardous waste carcasses. 3. Collection of associated medical and biohazardous waste related to the deceased animals. 4. Compliance with all local regulations regarding animal disposal and hazardous waste management.

Period of Performance

The contract will be awarded for a period of five years.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed within the City of Oakland, California.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must have an active City of Oakland business license and meet the city's insurance requirements.
