Portable Fire Extinguisher Services - Houston District

Background

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is issuing this solicitation to establish a contract for the provision of services related to the preventive and routine maintenance, inspection, and repair of portable fire extinguishers. The goal of this contract is to ensure that all fire safety equipment owned by TxDOT's Houston District (Highway District 12) is properly maintained and operational, thereby supporting the agency's mission to provide a safe and efficient transportation system.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for: 1. Conducting annual inspections of portable fire extinguishers and fire hoses. 2. Performing maintenance as needed, which includes repair and recharging of various types of portable fire extinguishers including ABC, BC, Halon, and CO2 types. 3. Ensuring compliance with all applicable safety standards during inspections and repairs. 4. Providing documentation for all services rendered including inspection reports and maintenance records.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon award on June 1, 2026, and will continue for a period specified in the final contract terms.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed at locations specified by TxDOT within the Houston District.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must comply with all federal, state, and local laws applicable to the performance of the contract. Additionally, bidders must maintain all necessary licenses and certifications required by law throughout the duration of the contract.
