Background

The Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County (ACCGov) is seeking proposals for the construction of new stage access at the Historic Morton Theatre, which serves as a significant performance space originally built in 1910. This project aims to replace existing stage access stairs and balcony support columns to enhance safety and functionality for the Leisure Services Department. ACCGov provides various local and state-funded services to a population of approximately 100,000.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for: - Demolition and removal of existing stairs on both sides of the performance stage. - Construction and installation of new access stairs according to architectural specifications. - Demolition and removal of existing balcony pillars. - Construction and installation of new balcony pillars according to architectural specifications. - Provision of all necessary equipment and supplies required to complete the project.

Period of Performance

The contract performance period is set for three months from the date of award, unless terminated earlier by either party with a written notice thirty days prior to termination.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at the Historic Morton Theatre located at 195 W. Washington Street, Athens, Georgia.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must have experience in working with historic buildings. Contractors must procure and maintain insurance covering bodily injury, property damage, and personal injury arising from operations under this agreement.
