Background This project is issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs in accordance with 38 U.S.C. § 8127 (Public Law 109-461) as a competitive Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Set-Aside. The goal of the contract is to prepare the site on the Jesse Brown VA campus for the installation of additional data drops, power outlets, and equipment bracing necessary for the deployment of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Management System. Work Details The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, and equipment to prepare the site identified on the Jesse Brown VA campus for the installation of additional data drops, power outlets, and equipment bracing for EHR deployment. The specific tasks include: 1. Provide and install normal and emergency power outlets, data drops, and required equipment bracing as detailed in project drawings and specifications. 2. Ensure that any damage caused during construction to walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs is repaired to match original construction standards. 3. Coordinate with the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) before turning off power to affected systems. 4. Verify accessibility to work areas and notify COR if utilities need to be relocated. 5. Responsible for all openings in walls; these must be repaired by a qualified contractor at the contractor's expense. 6. Protect devices within or adjacent to construction paths; test and protect devices that must be removed prior to reinstallation in their original locations. 7. Install Cat 6A cabling for data drops according to ANSI/TIA standards and ensure compliance with BICSI standards. Period of Performance The contract will be performed over a period of 60 calendar days after issuance of the Notice To Proceed (NTP). Place of Performance The construction projects will be performed at Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, located at 820 S Damen Ave., Chicago, IL 60612.
