Background

The State of Maine, through the Department of Marine Resources (DMR) and its Bureau of Marine Patrol (BMP), is seeking proposals for the construction and delivery of one (1) Lund 1875 Alaskan aluminum patrol boat package. This procurement aims to enhance the Bureau’s inshore enforcement and response capabilities by acquiring a durable, reliable, and trailerable platform suitable for routine operations in Maine’s coastal and inland waters. The BMP is responsible for enforcing marine resource laws, boating safety laws, and conducting search and rescue operations within the State's territorial waters.

Work Details

The awarded Bidder will furnish, rig, test, and deliver one (1) complete Lund 1875 Alaskan aluminum patrol boat package which includes: a boat, motor (Mercury 115 ELPT outboard), trailer, and electronics. The vessel must meet or exceed specifications including:

Length Overall

18 ft 10 in - Beam: 90 inches - Draft suitable for shallow-water inshore operations - Speed capability of approximately 30–40 MPH - Self-bailing or well-drained cockpit design - Dual console windshield configuration with walkthrough access to the bow area - Seating appropriate for patrol operations - Navigation lighting compliant with U.S. Coast Guard requirements - Automatic bilge pump and mooring hardware included. The vessel must be constructed from marine-grade aluminum with a reinforced transom suitable for the specified motor. It must also include a Garmin chartplotter/fish finder combination unit with transducer fully installed.

Period of Performance

The anticipated contract period is from June 30, 2026, to July 31, 2027.

Place of Performance

The completed vessel must be delivered to the Maine Marine Patrol Watercraft Facility located at 15 Vieno’s Run, Rockland, Maine 04841.

Bidder Requirements

Only established marine dealers with a minimum of five (5) years in business who are authorized dealers for the proposed vessel and engine may submit proposals. Bidders must maintain a physical business location and provide certified service capability.
