Background
The Town of Smithfield is soliciting bids from qualified contractors to provide Pest Control Services for various Town departments and facilities. The goal of this contract is to ensure effective pest management through an annual contract that includes a termite control maintenance plan and monthly pest control services as needed.
Work Details
The contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, supervision, equipment, tools, and materials required to perform the work under this contract. The scope of services includes: 1. Treatment and inspection of all internal areas of the buildings including closets, lounges, offices, bathrooms, kitchens, hallways, stairwells, basements, attics, and ceiling tiles. 2. Control of pests such as rats, mice, roaches, bed bugs, cockroaches, pavement ants, carpenter ants, moths, fleas, lice, flies, silverfish, spiders, centipedes, millipedes and other crawling insects using crack and crevice pesticides, baits, traps and monitoring stations. 3. An annual termite control maintenance plan for all locations except the Public Works Maintenance Facilities (the Public Works Superintendent Office is included). 4. Periodic external perimeter treatments using appropriate pesticides. 5. Emergency service at no charge within one business day after a call is placed. 6. Compliance with local and state pesticide regulations and use of environmentally safe 'Green' products where possible.
Period of Performance
The contract will be for a term of three (3) years with an option to automatically renew for two (2) additional years.
Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various Town-owned properties in Smithfield VA including but not limited to the Police Department, Town Manager’s Office, Water Treatment Plant and Smithfield Center.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be licensed Pesticide Businesses with the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. They must submit a copy of their VDACR Pesticide Business License along with a Certificate of Liability Insurance and W-9 Form with their quote.
