Background The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking to procure regular maintenance and repair services for Aesculap Pneumatic Kairison instruments utilized in Neurosurgery at the Portland VA Medical Center. The goal of this contract is to ensure that these critical instruments are maintained to manufacturer specifications, thereby supporting the VA's mission to provide high-quality healthcare services to veterans. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary services for the maintenance and repair of Aesculap Pneumatic Kairison instruments. This includes: - Factory-performed preventative maintenance at least twice a year as recommended. - Kairison sharpening performed on an as-needed basis, with no limit on the number of times per year. - Conducting maintenance checks according to industry standards and providing a maintenance form upon completion. - Ensuring that all repairs and services are completed to a standard that does not negatively impact patient care. - Shipping instruments to the Aesculap repair facility for repairs, with timely return upon completion. - Providing quality assurance such that 100% of returned instruments meet acceptable quality standards. - Identifying irreparable items and obtaining formal quotes before commencing any work on them. - Supplying all equipment, materials, and labor required for maintenance and repairs. Period of Performance The Base Year Period of Performance is from August 21, 2026, to August 20, 2027, with options for additional years. Place of Performance The contract will be performed at the Portland VA Medical Center located at 3710 SW US Veterans Hospital Road, Portland, OR 97239.
