Background

The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) is undertaking a project to develop and distribute a comprehensive, integrated curriculum for English Language Arts/Literacy, science, and social studies for grades K-3. The goal of this contract is to support the development of curriculum design specifications by July 2026 and to conduct a curriculum field test during the 2027-2028 school year.

Work Details

The vendor will be responsible for the following deliverables: 1) Development of detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets; 2) Conducting research questions (RQs) and designing research methodologies; 3) Providing monthly progress reports detailing project activities, successes, challenges, and updates; 4) Collecting data through documentation analysis, interviews, surveys, and school site visits; 5) Drafting and finalizing year-end reports summarizing findings across all data sources. The total contract amount for the initial duration is $20,000 with a maximum obligation of $220,000 including renewals.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon approval and is expected to run until June 30, 2026. There are options for two renewals of up to 12 months each, extending potentially until June 30, 2028.

Place of Performance

The services will be performed in Massachusetts as required by DESE.
