Background The project is issued by the Phoenix Veterans Administration Health Care System (PVAHCS) at the Carl T. Hayden Medical Center, located at 650 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ 85012. The mission of this contract is to provide engineering and construction services for replacing failed sewer lines and vents in the basement of buildings 1 and 8, as well as on the exterior of the main campus. The goal is to ensure proper plumbing infrastructure to support the facility's operations. Work Details The Design-Build contractor shall provide all site investigations, design analysis, design specifications and drawings, construction documents, materials, labor, equipment, supervision, testing, shop and manufacturing drawings, submittals, submittal registry/index necessary for the project. The scope includes: replacing existing sewer and vent piping that has deteriorated; replacing heat exchangers; steam piping; condensate pipe; associated valves and traps; tank systems; and other equipment related to waste management. Specific tasks include: replacing 2000 linear feet of 8" pipe and 2500 linear feet of 4" pipe; replacing lift stations at specified locations with compatible controls; replacing heat exchangers in Building 8; removing debris from the site; ensuring compliance with safety regulations; and providing documentation for all site visits. Period of Performance The contract requires completion of all work within 280 calendar days from Notice to Proceed (NTP), which includes 90 calendar days for design and 190 calendar days for construction. Place of Performance The construction projects will be performed at the Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center located in Phoenix, AZ.
