Background

The City of Kenner is issuing Sealed Bid No. 26-6972 for Lead Safe Hazard Reduction (LSHR) services aimed at reducing lead hazards in residential properties located at 723 Coleman Street and 311 Morey Street. This initiative is part of the city's commitment to ensuring safe living environments and is funded by the United States Department of Housing & Urban Development Office of Lead Hazard Control and Healthy Homes.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for providing all labor, materials, tools, and equipment necessary to perform lead hazard reduction activities as specified in the bid documents. The scope of work includes: 1. Lead abatement activities such as paint removal, encapsulation, and specialized cleaning in designated areas within the homes. 2. Installation of ADA-compliant fixtures including walk-in showers and toilets. 3. Replacement of damaged or hazardous materials including windows, doors, and ceilings. 4. General debris and waste removal from the work sites. 5. Compliance with lead-safe work practices as mandated by federal regulations.

Period of Performance

The contract work is expected to commence within seven days following the issuance of a Notice to Proceed and must be completed within a timeframe specified in the contract documents.

The services will be performed at two residential locations: 723 Coleman Street and 311 Morey Street, Kenner, Louisiana.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must possess valid licenses with the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) and the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors (LSLBC). They are required to submit proof of insurance coverage before commencing work. Additionally, bidders must comply with local preference laws favoring materials produced or manufactured in Louisiana.
