Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Upgrades at Various Locations in Baltimore County Sidewalks

Background

The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) is issuing this solicitation for a project aimed at upgrading sidewalks to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) at various locations in Baltimore County. The goal of the contract is to enhance accessibility and safety for pedestrians by installing and replacing concrete sidewalks, curb and gutter systems, and pedestrian ramps.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks: a) Construction of curb and gutter, sidewalk, and pedestrian ramps; b) Driveway entrance adjustment and reconstruction; c) Drainage structure adjustments; d) Maintenance of traffic during construction activities; e) Landscaping as necessary. Specific locations for the work include: - MD 45 from Cavan Drive to Ridgely Road (milepoints 3.31-4.34) – On NHS, - MD 7 from Campbell Boulevard to MD 43 (milepoints 5.71-6.28) – Off NHS.

Period of Performance

The contract is expected to be performed starting from the bid letting date of June 11, 2026, with specific timelines to be determined upon award.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at various locations in Baltimore County, Maryland.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must register with Bid Express and have a paid subscription to their Internet Bidding Service. Bids must be submitted electronically; no paper bids will be accepted. For contracts exceeding $100,000, bidders are required to submit Bid Security equal to at least five percent (5%) of the total amount bid and provide Payment and Performance Bonds upon award.
