The City of Detroit Office of Contracting and Procurement (OCP), on behalf of the General Services Department, is seeking qualified vendors to provide Vehicle and Equipment Towing Services. The goal of this contract is to ensure reliable towing services for approximately 2,500 pieces of City-owned equipment, which includes a range of vehicles from light-duty trucks to heavy equipment such as fire engines and dump trucks. The contract will be for a period of two years with an option for one renewal year.
The Contractor shall provide towing services for City vehicles and equipment as requested, including: - Towing service available seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. - A contact person designated by the Contractor for notifications from the City Fleet Management division. - Equipment capable of towing up to 65,000 lbs. - A diverse towing fleet to transport various types of City equipment under any conditions. - Capability to perform multiple towing jobs simultaneously. - All invoices must be signed by an authorized repair foreman or supervisor upon delivery. - Original invoices must be submitted for payment; copies are not acceptable. - After-hour job invoices must be delivered to Russell Yard for signatures. Bidders must have a minimum of five years' experience providing similar towing services and must be located within a thirty-mile radius of the City of Detroit. Bidders should also have no driving violations in the past three years and must pass background checks. Additionally, all personnel assigned to perform services must be fully qualified under State and Local laws, and the Contractor must maintain all necessary licenses and permits.
