Background

The Adult and Community Learning Services (ACLS) office at the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) is seeking consultants to develop and facilitate training and coaching for the implementation of the Beyond the Checklist (BTC) instructional leadership project in adult education programs in Massachusetts. The goal of this contract is to support the BTC state lead in their work with participating adult education providers.

Work Details

Consultants will be responsible for developing and facilitating training sessions and coaching for adult education programs. This includes: 1. Implementation of the Beyond the Checklist instructional leadership project; 2. Supporting BTC state lead in their work with participating adult education providers; 3. Providing professional development (PD) offerings and technical assistance tailored to adult Basic Education (ABE) and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) teachers.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon approval and will continue until June 30, 2027, with an option for renewal up to a maximum of 12 months.

Place of Performance

The services will be performed within Massachusetts, specifically targeting adult education programs across the state.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must demonstrate experience observing teachers, providing effective feedback, coaching educators, developing PD for adult education programs, and knowledge of MA ABE Professional Standards and ESOL Professional Standards.
