2026-038 Line Painting and Pavement Marking

Background

The City of Gardner is seeking bids from qualified contractors for line painting and pavement marking services as part of its public works initiatives. The goal of this contract is to ensure that all road markings, crosswalks, and designated areas are clearly marked in accordance with the standards set by the Director of Public Works. This contract will be an annual agreement with the option for two additional one-year renewals at the discretion of the City.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for providing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to complete line painting and pavement marking using quick dry chlorinated rubber base marking paint. The City will prepare the surfaces for application. All work must conform to Massachusetts Department of Public Works Standard Specifications and other applicable regulations. The contractor must secure necessary permits before commencing work. The successful bidder must have a minimum of five years of experience in this type of work and provide documentation to demonstrate their qualifications.

Period of Performance

The contract term will commence in May 2026 and conclude in April 2027, with options for two additional one-year renewals.

Place of Performance

The services will be performed within the City of Gardner, Massachusetts.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must submit a bid deposit equal to 5% of the total bid amount. They are required to comply with Massachusetts Prevailing Wage Law and OSHA certification requirements. Bidders must provide at least three references for similar services performed in the past.
