Background

The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) is issuing this Invitation for Bids (IFB) for the replacement of sectional overhead doors at the Prince Frederick Maintenance Shop. The goal of this contract is to procure services for the installation and replacement of two sectional overhead doors, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry best practices.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for the installation/replacement of two (2) 14’x14’ Thermacore Overhead Insulated Sectional Doors or approved equivalents. The work includes: - Replacing two overhead sectional doors, motors, two weatherproof switches, weatherproof covers, tracks, rollers, safety edge weatherstrips, and all associated hardware. - Installation of 2” inch Steel continuous Lift Track Wash Bay. - Sectional Panels to match existing brown/bronze color. - Installation of stainless steel rollers/panel hinges. - Installation of a 20,000 cycle Shaft and Torsion spring. - Installation of two (2) NEMA 4x motors or approved equivalents. - Provision of a bottom electric safety edge. - Weather-stripping including Lintel Brush Seal at top of opening, Guide Brush Seals, and Neoprene Bottom Seal. - Provision of vision lites located approximately 60” from the bottom of the door (four lites wide x five lites high). Approved manufacturers include Cookson, Cornell, Overhead, Raynor or SHA approved equivalents.

Period of Performance

The contract duration is thirty (30) days with all work to be completed and invoices submitted prior to June 30, 2026.

Place of Performance

The primary place of performance is at the State Highway Administration located at 100 Hallowing Point Road, Prince Frederick, MD 20678.

Bidder Requirements

This procurement is designated as a Small Business Reserve Procurement; only certified small business vendors are eligible for award. Bidders must be licensed to perform work in the State of Maryland and comply with all applicable OSHA and MOSH regulations.
