The intent of this notice is to establish sources to define the procurement strategy (e.g set-aside, sole source, unrestricted) for a solicitation that VA intends to post soon. Background The Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically the Network Contracting Office (NCO) 17 VHA Regional Procurement Office-West, is conducting market research for the requirement of a Patient Elopement and Wander Management System. This system is necessary due to the age and technological deficiencies of the existing system at the Dallas and Bonham Community Living Centers. The goal is to enhance patient safety by expanding elopement monitoring coverage into select acute care areas within the Dallas VA Medical Center. Work Details The contract involves the purchase and installation of a Patient Elopement and Wander Management System, which includes: - Replacement of existing systems in Dallas CLC (Building 60) and Bonham CLC (Building 29). - Expansion into acute care areas 5C400, 6C400, and 7C200. - Installation of virtualized enterprise software on a facility-supplied server connected via the Hospital's Local Area Network (LAN). - Client workstations with proximity card readers and touchscreen monitors for user login. - Installation of designated door zones capable of locking down with magnetic locks when a monitored patient is detected. - Alarm identification and reporting capabilities that display alarms on a CAD drawing-based interface. - Supply of patient wander transmitters with ID/banding for use across monitored units. - Integration with existing fire alarm and security systems. - Provision of training for clinical personnel across all covered areas. - Compliance with Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) requirements during installation activities.
