Background The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has awarded a firm-fixed-price contract for the turnkey installation of a Science On a Sphere (SOS) visualization system at the NOAA Satellite Operations Facility (NSOF) in Suitland, MD. This project is essential for NOAA to fulfill its statutory mandate under the America COMPETES Reauthorization Act to improve public environmental literacy. The awardee, B/W Color Prints LLC (dba BWC Visual Technology), is the sole authorized partner for the SOS system in North America under CRADA CR-188, which is active through March 2029. Work Details The contract includes the provision of proprietary SOS hardware and software licensing, specialized technical installation utilizing the patented Alignment Pro system, and ancillary facility improvements necessary to support the exhibit environment.
