Southeastern Transportation Consortium - Phase II Syntheses of Best Practices (Best Practices for Technology Transfer)

Background

The Southeastern Transportation Consortium (STC) was established to promote coordination among member states and manage collaborative studies in transportation research. The consortium aims to reduce redundancy in research efforts and enhance communication regarding state research activities. The STC's mission is driven by the need for efficient resource utilization and addressing common transportation issues faced by all states. This contract seeks to synthesize best practices for technology transfer among State Departments of Transportation (DOTs), focusing on the value of research investments and improving the dissemination of research findings.

Work Details

The contractor will conduct a synthesis of best practices for technology transfer among State DOTs, which includes: 1. Identifying practices on technology transfer activities such as webinars and conferences. 2. Reviewing implementation products like videos, primers, and social media outputs. 3. Documenting technology transfer deliverables. 4. Evaluating best practices for communicating research deliverables. The objectives include focusing on southeastern region research projects, performing literature searches, reviewing project scopes and methodologies, identifying commonalities in results and recommendations, assessing implementation status, and recommending applicability of findings to other states.

Period of Performance

The estimated completion time for this project is 9 months, with a draft final report due in 6 months and an additional 3 months allocated for review and approval.

Place of Performance

The work will primarily be conducted virtually, with potential travel required for meetings with the Project Review Committee in Louisiana.

Bidder Requirements

Consultants must be registered with the Secretary of State to work in Louisiana prior to contract award. If sub-consultants are used, the prime consultant must perform at least 51% of the work. Proposals must adhere to the LTRC Manual of Research Procedures format, and any surveys or questionnaires developed must be approved by the Project Review Committee before distribution.
