Background The Shoalhunter is a 58-foot overall length by 20-foot beam, 46 GRT fiberglass, mono-hull vessel built by Modutech Marine in Tacoma, WA, commissioned in 1993. The vessel is in sound condition but requires minor maintenance and repair, as well as retrofitting and upgrades to interior/exterior equipment and finishes. The contract aims to provide the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Seattle District, Navigation Section with necessary dry dock maintenance services within the Grays Harbor area. Work Details The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, applicable licenses and permits necessary to perform FY26 Shoalhunter Dry Dock Repair and Maintenance Services. Key tasks include: 1. Haul out and pressure wash/scrape to remove all marine growth; add fresh coat of bottom paint; replace all zinc anodes. 2. Repair cracks and blisters in fiberglass; repaint hull, cabin, and cabin overhead deck. 3. Upgrade all interior deck lighting fixtures to high-quality LED fixtures. 4. Correct failed paint coatings; repaint engine and tank compartments. 5. Check and adjust propeller shaft alignments to transmissions to alleviate vibrations. 6. Rebuild steering gear to remove slop; add greasable bearings. 7. Replace all deck fittings for fuel, water, and waste with similar-sized stainless-steel fittings. 8. Replace all stainless-steel exhaust piping components in the engine room. Period of Performance The period of performance shall be from June 1, 2026 through August 14, 2026. Place of Performance The work will be performed at the Contractor’s facility within 300 nautical miles of the vessel’s homeport located at Aberdeen Landing, 320 South Newell, Aberdeen, WA 98520.
