Background The City of Douglas, Georgia, is seeking bids for the supply and installation of electronic gates at the Douglas Airport. This project aims to enhance security and access control at the airport, aligning with the city's commitment to providing safe and efficient services. The contract is part of the FY'26 budget and is designated as BID#66812-26-0023. Work Details The contractor will furnish and install three cantilever slide gates as a turnkey installation, which includes all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, and incidentals necessary for a fully functional system. The specific gates to be installed are: 1. Gate 1 – 25' x 5' Black Aluminum Chain Link Cantilever Slide Gate with aluminum frame construction and black finish (no chain link fabric required). 2. Gate 2 – 25' x 6' Chain Link Cantilever Slide Gate with barbed wire on top (galvanized or coated framework; no chain link fabric required). 3. Gate 3 – 25' x 6' Chain Link Cantilever Slide Gate with barbed wire on top (similar specifications as Gate 2). 4. Access Control Requirement for Gate 4 includes manual programming, software programming, and remote access programming capabilities. All gates will include heavy-duty cantilever rollers and track systems, structural bracing to prevent sagging, proper posts and footings for stability, and four remote control transmitters per gate. Additionally, an electronic gate operator must be provided for each gate with options for keypad entry systems capable of manual programming or programmable via computer software. Period of Performance The work is expected to be completed within an agreed timeframe after the Notice to Proceed is issued. All site visits must be completed by May 22, 2026. Place of Performance The installation will take place at the Douglas Airport located at 123 W Cherry St., Douglas, GA 31533. Bidder Requirements Contractors must meet all City of Douglas and State of Georgia licensing requirements. A Certificate of Insurance with a minimum coverage of $100,000 is required before work begins. Bidders must also comply with non-discrimination regulations in federally assisted programs as outlined by USDOT regulations.
