Work Details The scope of this project includes the furnishing and delivery of new school buses that meet or exceed federal, state, and local requirements, including all safety, emissions, and accessibility standards. Vehicles must be fully equipped for student transportation, including required safety features, communication systems, and any specified technology enhancements. Vendors are expected to provide detailed specifications, pricing, warranty information, delivery timelines, and service support options. All equipment must be delivered ready for operation and include any necessary documentation, training, and support materials. Specific vehicle specifications include: - 43 buses with a capacity of 77 passengers (Model CE SCHOOL BUS) - 31 buses with a capacity of 47 passengers (Model CE SCHOOL BUS) All buses must be delivered on or before December 30, 2026. Period of Performance The term of this Agreement shall commence on the date of the U-46 Board’s approval or upon notice of award by the District (whichever shall occur first) and end one (1) year thereafter. Place of Performance Deliveries must be made directly to the Transportation Departments located at 500 Shales Pkwy. and 1019 E. Chicago St., Elgin, IL 60120. Bidder Requirements Bidders must submit a Bid Bond of ten percent (10%) of the amount of the base bid(s), or a Cashier’s Check made payable to School District U-46 prior to bid opening. The awarded vendor(s) will be required to provide a Performance Bond for 100% of the base bid(s). Bidders must have personnel, facilities, equipment, financial resources, and time to perform the services required under this contract. They are also required to confirm compliance with insurance requirements including Commercial General Liability Insurance and Workers Compensation Insurance.
