Background The Missouri Department of Conservation is issuing this Invitation for Bid (IFB) MDC 0000000194SL for prescribed burn services in Vernon, Cedar, St. Clair, and Benton Counties. The mission of the Department is to protect and manage the fish, forest, and wildlife resources of the state while facilitating public participation in resource management activities. The goal of this contract is to conduct prescribed burns to remove ground litter, stimulate forbs, reduce cedars, and stress/thin small woody vegetation as part of their conservation efforts. Work Details The contractor will provide prescribed burn services under the direction of the Department's wildlife management biologist. Services include conducting burns on various conservation areas as specified in approved burn plans. The areas included are: - Osage Prairie CA - Little Osage Prairie CA - Gayfeather Prairie CA - Monegaw Prairie CA - Wah'Kon-Tah Prairie CA - Taberville Prairie CA - Blackjack Access - Linscomb WA - Lichen Glade CA - Dave Rock CA - Truman Reservoir Management Lands. The contractor must ensure all personnel are qualified and equipped with personal protective equipment. They are responsible for all tools, equipment, materials, labor, and supervision necessary to perform the services. Additionally, the contractor must comply with performance requirements including maintaining fire lines/breaks and ensuring safety protocols are followed during operations. Period of Performance The original contract period will commence upon award and last for one year. There are options for two additional one-year renewals at the Department's discretion. Place of Performance Services will be performed in various locations across Vernon County (Osage Prairie CA), Cedar County (Monegaw Prairie CA), St. Clair County (Wah'Kon-Tah Prairie CA), and Benton County (Truman Reservoir Management Lands). Bidder Requirements Bidders must be registered in MissouriBUYS to be considered for contract award. They must also comply with specific requirements such as providing a 'Vendor No Tax Due' certificate from the Missouri Department of Revenue prior to award. Additionally, suppliers must meet business registration requirements with the Missouri Secretary of State and comply with conflict of interest laws if they are elected or appointed officials or employees of the State.
