Background The Indian Health Service (IHS) is seeking to identify qualified small business vendors to provide comprehensive solid waste and recycling management services for the Phoenix Indian Medical Center (PIMC). The goal of this contract is to ensure proper management of solid waste and recyclable materials generated from daily operations, which include patient care, administrative activities, and facility maintenance. This is essential for maintaining a safe and sanitary environment while complying with environmental and public health regulations. Work Details The contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, materials, and personnel necessary for the storage, collection, transportation, and disposal of solid waste and recyclable materials. Services must include: 1. Scheduled collections: - 6 – 3 cubic yard bins: 2 pickups per week (Monday and Thursday). - 6 – 8 cubic yard bins: 5 pickups per week (Monday through Friday). - 1 - 40-cubic yard bin: 2 pickups per week (Monday and Thursday). - 1 – 40 cubic yard roll-off bin as needed upon request. - Rental fee for 1 – 37 cubic yard trash compactor. 2. Secure storage of solid waste and recyclables at designated locations. 3. Compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations regarding waste management. The contractor must demonstrate reliability in operations, maintain equipment effectively, support recycling efforts, and ensure environmentally responsible disposal at approved facilities.
