The City of Athens is seeking single prime sealed bids for the construction of Athens Fire Station No. 3. Bids will be accepted until 2:00 PM Eastern Standard Time on May 28, 2026, at the Athens City Hall Training Room, located at 815 N Jackson Street, Athens, TN 37303. At that time, all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bidding documents can be obtained by contacting Jared Brown via email at jbrown@woldae.com. It is important to follow the Instructions to Bidders provided in the documents. Bidding documents may be examined at several locations including the City of Athens Purchasing page, the FW Dodge Plan Rooms in Nashville and Memphis, the Nashville Contractors Association, Builders Exchange in Memphis, and the West Tennessee Plan Room in Jackson. This project entails the construction of a new 10,900 square foot Fire Station, which will include a FEMA-rated storm shelter, CMU walls, stained concrete floors, and necessary mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work. Bids must be submitted on a lump sum basis; segregated bids will not be accepted. Bid security of ten percent (10%) of the total bid amount must accompany each submission. The Owner reserves the right to waive irregularities and reject any and all bids. Bidders must be licensed according to state law and are required to attend a Pre-Bid Conference on May 13, 2026, at 1:00 PM Eastern at the Athens City Hall Training Room.
