Background The City of Detroit is issuing a Request for Competitive Quotes (RFQ) for the construction of a new commercial kitchen at the Community Center. This project aims to enhance community services by providing a modern kitchen facility that meets current health and safety standards. The City seeks licensed and qualified contractors to perform the necessary construction services as outlined in this RFQ. Work Details Contractors are required to complete all work as shown in the attached drawings (Exhibit B), which include but are not limited to: 1) Installation of new 2x4 walls at 16" O.C. with 5/8" gypsum wall board on both sides; 2) Installation of a Bunn double coffee brewing machine; 3) Installation of a counter top microwave (Summit OTR 24); 4) Installation of a Vulcan SX60F-6B24G 60" gas range with griddle; 5) Installation of an 80" three-door freezer and refrigerator (Katom #842-CSD3DFBAL80G); 6) Installation of various sinks including hand wash, exam room sink, and utility sink; 7) Installation of a dishwasher as specified by the owner; and other related kitchen equipment as detailed in the drawings. Period of Performance The contract work is expected to commence upon issuance of a 'Notice to Proceed' by the City and must be completed within the timeframe specified in the agreement. All quotes are due by May 20, 2026. Place of Performance The work will be performed at the Detroit Community Center located at 345 Santiam Ave S, Detroit, OR 97342. Bidder Requirements Contractors must be licensed and bonded. A performance bond is required for this work, while a payment bond is not required. Contractors must comply with Oregon's prevailing wage laws under ORS 279C.800 to 279C.870 and provide proof of insurance covering general liability, automobile liability, and workers' compensation as specified in the RFQ.
