The Commission is responsible for awarding grants from OHV registration revenue, directly funding projects that enhance OHV trails and facilities. The goal of the grant program is to support various projects related to OHV use, including trail construction, maintenance, and safety training. Work Details Eligible projects for funding include: 1) Studies or planning for trails and facilities; 2) Mapping and signing of trails; 3) Acquisition of land for trails; 4) Enhancement or maintenance of existing trails; 5) Construction of new trails and facilities; 6) Restoration of areas damaged by OHVs; 7) Construction of features to minimize environmental impacts; 8) Safety training and education related to OHVs; and 9) Compliance and enforcement efforts. Common eligible costs include trailhead kiosks, registration drives, public education training, trail maintenance workdays, equipment for grooming snowmobile trails, and rerouting trails to avoid sensitive areas.
