Background The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), Field Acquisition Office (FAO), is conducting market research for Solid Waste Landfill Services for the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Devens, located in Ayer, Massachusetts. This requirement is not new as services are currently provided by Devens Recycling Center, LLC. The current contract was awarded in September 2023 for $199,260.00, covering one base year and two one-year options, set to end on September 30, 2026. The goal of this contract is to ensure proper disposal of nonhazardous waste generated by FMC Devens. Work Details The contractor will provide Solid Waste Landfill Services which include: - Transporting garbage and construction debris from FMC Devens to the contractor’s disposal facility using a government-owned vehicle. - Assuming ownership of all nonhazardous trash, garbage, and construction debris upon unloading at the transfer site. - Responsible for lawful disposal of the nonhazardous materials. - Providing documentation of tonnage for each delivery. - Deliveries are estimated at 540 tons per year but may vary; approximately three loads per week are expected during operational hours from Monday to Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., excluding federal holidays. Place of Performance Services will be performed at the contractor’s disposal facility located within a 10-mile radius of FMC Devens, 42 Patton Road, Ayer, MA 01432.
