Background UChicago Argonne, LLC operates Argonne National Laboratory under a prime contract with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). The laboratory is responsible for acquiring HPSS disk cache hardware, software/licensing, installation, and maintenance and support services as outlined in this Request for Proposal (RFP). The goal of this contract is to replace aging infrastructure to maintain efficient data archiving capabilities at the Argonne Leadership Computing Facility (ALCF). Work Details The contract involves the procurement of a block storage system that supports high-speed parallel data transfers for efficient data ingestion into the archive while allowing simultaneous data migration to tape. Key specifications include: - A standalone storage appliance accessible by Linux data mover hosts. - Support for connectivity to existing network infrastructure (100GbE, 200GbE, 400GbE). - Presentation of raw unformatted LUNs to Linux data mover hosts. - Integration with custom and third-party monitoring solutions leveraging vendor-provided APIs. - Requirements for performance, reliability, and management network capabilities as detailed in the Statement of Work.
